Man threatened to shoot up his female relative's house.. Where's the love?

A Delray Beach man threatened to shoot up his female relative's house after she reported to police that he pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her the day before, according to a Delray Beach police arrest report.

The threats happened Nov. 19 as a woman told police that Shadd Dorsett, 23, came into a home in the 100 block of Southwest 10th Avenue where they both live and demanded all his missing jewelry and money.

As Dorsett ransacked the home, he pulled out a gun, pointed it at the woman and said, "I will kill everyone in the house if you call the police and it will be a massacre," according to the report.

Despite his threat, the woman called police, according to the report.

The woman said Dorsett then called her mother the next day and told her to give the woman a message stating, "If she didn't recant her statement, he was going to shoot up [her] house later tonight," an officer wrote in the report. Read more here: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/palm-beach/delray-beach/fl-delray-witness-threat-20141208-story.html

Delray Beach Police K-9 Karo dies... A faithful partner will be missed.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Delray Beach Police Department announced Monday the passing of retired K-9 Karo.

Read the following tribute from K-9 Officer Margolis on behalf of Former K-9 Officer Tolbert's faithful partner K-9 Karo.

"It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Officer Tolbert’s retired partner, K-9 Karo. Karo passed away this morning unexpectedly from complications after a surgery. Karo began working with Tom in February of 2006, and for those who had the opportunity to see him work, you know how special he was.

Karo was responsible for hundreds of apprehensions and narcotics seizures, as well as evidence recovery that solved many cases.

Out of all of his accomplishments (and there were many),one that I will always remember is the Picasso’s Pizza shooting back in 2007. After an extensive 9 hour search in a tropical storm, involving fifteen K-9 teams, it was Karo who located the two suspects, along with their handguns, rifle, masks and gloves. Boca's oldest cold case: Famed sculptor's family revisits 1948 double murder

Boca Raton's oldest cold case started with a Palm Beach society sculptor and his wife lying lifeless in their bedroom. Both had been shot at close range, their corpses on the floor next to their bed.

Who cut short the flamboyant lives of famed sculptor Leno Lazzari, 48, and his wife, Louise, 40, is a mystery that has endured for 66 years. The case is cold enough that death has likely put the perpetrator far from the reach of the justice system.

But getting a satisfying answer for why the Lazzaris were slain, and finding the sculptor's remaining art, has his family on a quest. Lazzari's great-grandson Danilo Lazzari, 37, recently traveled from his home in Munich, Germany, to South Florida. He reviewed police records and even put himself at the spot where his great-grandfather was found dead in his studio off North Federal Highway in Boca Raton all those years ago.

The murders have haunted his family, Lazzari says, to the point his relatives want to know the information as he gets it. Read more here: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/palm-beach/fl-boca-cold-case-20141205-story.html#page=1

Police say a woman was driving drunk with a 7-year-old boy in the back seat when she caused a three-car crash in Boca Raton on Sunday.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. when Colleen Cooney-Platten, 44, of Boca Raton, was driving in the 800 block of Federal Highway. That's where Cooney-Platten told police she was slowing down to stop and turn around to talk to a passenger in the back seat, police said.

Four people in the other two vehicles complained of neck and back pain and were taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Woman revives after 45 minutes without a pulse... I bet you've never came back from the dead before.

They are calling it "a miracle."

Doctors at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida have no way to explain how 40-year-old Ruby Graupera-Cassimiro survived after spending 45 minutes without a pulse and enduring three hours of attempts to bring her back from near-death on Sept. 23.

Graupera-Cassimiro, now a mother of two, had just come out of a cesarean section procedure to deliver her new daughter. Then suddenly, she went from chattering with her family to struggling for her life, according to the Sun Sentinel.

She was suffering from a rare complication called an amniotic fluid embolism, in which the fluid that surrounds the baby in the womb enters the mother's blood stream. The condition can cause life-threatening blood clots. Read more here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2014/11/10/woman-spontaneously-revives-after-45-minutes-without-a-pulse/

Boca Raton Realtor Stephanie Fleishman Back In Jail

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) – Boca Raton Realtor Stephanie Fleishman apparently blew her chance to make a DUI arrest go away.

The 40 year old Fleishman, whose DUI arrest we first reported back in 2013, was sentenced to probation, alcohol education and community service.

But something happened in late September or early October that led to a judge signing a warrant for her arrest. That arrest happened late Tuesday. Fleishman was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and released Wednesday on her own recognizance. The official charge: probation violation. Shark Attack In Fort Pierce Leaves Boca Raton Surfer With Injuries To Arm

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- 18-year-old Boca Raton resident Ryan Shapiro is lucky to be alive after a shark attack in the Fort Pierce inlet Saturday. "I went to go paddle for a wave and the shark just grabbed my arm and the shark landed on my back and gave me a laceration on my back," Shapiro said. The 18-year-old surfer says he got into a wrestling match after the shark had bitten him on the arm.

"When I got bit I was screaming I was just like, 'shark! Help me!'" Ryan certainly did not win nor did he lose. He had seven tendons ripped to shreds but his mother is grateful he still has 10 fingers and 10 toes. "I'm not telling anyone to stop surfing, because I am not going to stop surfing. I want to surf right after this. I just want people to be aware of their surroundings and to be careful of sharks because this is the season for them," Shapiro's mother said.
